Say hello to the

Homemaking Routines Trello Template

— Finally organize all your homemaking tasks in one place!

know what you should be doing each day of the week, and actually get it done!

DO YOU WANT TO stay on top of all your homemaking tasks?

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Do you find yourself constantly busy but never feeling like you've accomplished anything?

Do you feel like other homemakers have it figured out but you can't quite seem to get it together?

Do you feel scattered, never quite knowing what you should be doing next?

Do you feel like you have too many things to juggle, and not enough time to get them all done?

WELL, YOU SEE—I FELT THE SAME WAY.

Which is why I knew I needed a system to finally get organized.

I was so tired of feeling like each day was just an endless to-do list, with no end in sight.

I wanted to have a ‘theme’ for each day, so I could stay focused, and know that by the end of the week, everything that needed doing would get done.

As homemakers, running our homes efficiently is our job. And we should have the proper tools to do so.

Having a plan for the week means you no longer have to feel overwhelmed. Each day, you only have to focus on that day's tasks.

GET

ORGANIZED

NOW!

Repeat after me:

I am organized.

Each day, I wake up knowing exactly what the plan is for the day.

When I complete my tasks, I can rest, knowing that tomorrow's tasks belong to tomorrow.

I no longer feel frazzled and overwhelmed.

As a result, I am a better, more present, mother, wife, and homemaker.

IT'S MORE THAN JUST GETTING ORGANIZED

This isn’t just about getting organized.

This is about re-claiming your time, energy, and brain space.

Whether you're a full-time homemaker, or work outside the home and still have to squeeze in homemaking tasks, you need a system.

Knowing that each day of the week has its own focus, allows your brain to rest, knowing that eventually, it will all get done.

You can fully customize this Homemaking Trello board so it suits your life.

Are you getting excited yet?

LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT

TRELLO WEEKLY HOMEMAKING PLANNER

My comprehensive Trello board allows you to break down your week into theme days, so your week is organized and you know which days you are doing what tasks.

Let’s take a look at what’s inside:

Daily Routines

Daily routines are the foundation of your weekly routines.

In your Daily Routines list, you can create morning, afternoon, and evening routines - these are the tasks that need to get done every day, rather than on a weekly basis.

Weekly Routines

There is a list for each day of the week, allowing you to lay out your theme days so you know which days you're doing what tasks.

Doing a different type of laundry each day means that by the end of the week, all of the laundry gets done, without the dreaded Laundry Day.

Detailed Checklists

Each card on your list opens up into a detailed checklist.

You can, of course, edit these checklists so they suit your home and your routine.

Habit Tracking

Do you have specific habits you want to track? Like drinking enough water?

You could add a checklist for exercising, daily reading, or any other habits you're trying to cultivate.

HAVING A PLAN FOR THE WEEK QUIETS YOUR MIND

As homemakers, it's difficult for us to relax, knowing there is always more that needs to be done.

Having a theme for each day of the week, means when our work for the day is finished, we can rest, knowing that tomorrow's work belongs to tomorrow.

Whether you're a full-time homemaker, or you work outside the home and have to squeeze in homemaking tasks where you can, having a system in place will help you get everything done, while putting your mind at ease, knowing there is a day for everything.

My quest for a homemaking routine began when my children were very young, and I felt so overwhelmed by all the tasks that I needed to accomplish each day and week.

It seemed that every system that I found, only focused on cleaning.

Yes, cleaning is a big part of homemaking, but it's certainly not the only task.

There is gardening, errands, bill-paying, ironing and mending, and of course, the never-ending meals, dishes, and laundry.

I searched everywhere for an app or a spreadsheet that would do what I needed, but when I found nothing, I decided to create my own.

If you're a visual person like I am, you'll love the ability to customize your board photo and your list photos.

Personalizing this template and making it your own, will make it fun for you to use each and every day.

Who Am I?

Alissa McCaw

After getting diagnosed with ADHD at 46 years old, I finally understood why it had been such a struggle to figure out homemaking systems that would work for me.

I somehow managed to squeak by before I had kids, but the instant I also had to juggle taking care of other humans, I felt completely overwhelmed by home management.

As a new mom, I spent many days in a puddle of tears and frustration, wondering why I couldn't just ‘get it together’ like other moms seemed to be able to.

Other moms seemed to be able to work full time, have a perfectly clean home, have healthy meals on the table by 6 pm, and miraculously managed to complete their children's baby photo books in a timely manner.

I tried so many systems over the years. From Flylady, to Homemaking binders (ha!), to every physical day planner I could get my hands on.

Then the tremendous guilt would set in as those planners sat, unused, taunting me to just open them.

Nothing clicked for me until I tried Trello.

What I love about Trello is:

  • how visual it is (you can pretty it up with pictures so you get excited to use it)
  • it's so easy to move tasks around (most of the reason I gave up on physical planners was because if I didn't complete a task, I felt like a failure - with Trello, I can just drag it to another day, or wait until it comes back around next week!)
  • Reusable checklists! (No more having to write out the same lists over and over again)
  • The Kanban method makes it so you can see all your lists at a glance, but you can focus on just one at a time. My brain loves this, so I know I'm not forgetting anything
  • Everything is available to me at all times, because it syncs across all my devices (unlike my old Home Management binder, which stayed in my kitchen - not very helpful when I was at the grocery store trying to remember the ingredients for a recipe!)
  • All my Trello Boards are neatly organized into Workspaces, so they are easy to access and find.
  • Trello is free!! I couldn't believe it. Every other app or software I looked into had a subscription fee. Even as someone who uses it a ton, for both my business and personal life, the free version is all I need!

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

It's time to finally organize your homemaking tasks so you know what needs to be done each day.
